I hit one with my van this morning. It zigged when it should've zagged and caught the bumper.

I’ve heard rumors that LE used to use crows around highways to judge if you were speeding. See, crows are so smart and great judges of incoming threats after watching cars for years around roadways that they would be able to fly away in time and would get hit if not.

So, how much over were you going?

Five over. It chose poorly when it turned toward me instead of away after it got off the ground. I’m just glad that it stayed low and didn’t hit the windshield.

Oh wow, very nice. 👍

If I may ask, what are you going to do with those mounts?

Sadly, I did not get to go shoot a crow today. 😭

I have been mowing since early this morning, and it will probably be close to 7:00 this evening before I get finished, and hopefully this will be the last mowing of the year!

I’ll keep em at Tacora Mart for now, I told my daughter she can have the Murder mount.

Mr. Hoddy,

what happened to all those crows out at Ft. Cobb? Was the vast majority killed, diseases, did they move elsewhere or what?

I remember back in the day, reading stories in several of the outdoor rags about the literal millions and millions of crows that roosted there at Ft. Cobb.

I said many times that I would like to have gone there just to see how many crows I could shoot, test different loads and such, but as often happens, life just got in the way and I never got to go there...
The crows were after the peanut crop. There were rows of trees along the fields left over from the dust bowl days they roosted in.
I don't know what happened to that area to make it unattractive to the crows, but wouldn't be surprised the tree rows got cut down, eliminating the roost.
Edit: I see someone more knowledgeable has already answered the question.
