I always assumed that if they told people through an email before they had their actual license, then people would just start carrying without it and that might not turn out too well if they encountered an officer for some reason.

It sounds like a form letter to me, standard response to anyone that actually hasn't waited the 112 days or whatever they say to wait before contacting them.

I emailed yesterday about my permits status and received this response

When did OSBI receive your application/cash your check/charge your credit card?

This does not sound like good news or bad news. It sounds like they are telling you to cool your jets and wait for the letter.

I am sure you will be fine.

Just on a hunch, I called the sherrif today and the license was there waiting for me. It had been issued almost 20 days ago.

It was mailed from the sheriffs office 88 days ago. I sent a money order.

I sent a email Monday and they said

We received your app on 10/20/2009.
It is currently taking 60 to 90 day to process an app


But I no alot of people who are starting to get there's in 40 some days. Called the sheriffs office and they said they are getting mailed to them about every 2 weeks. One list was dated the nov 9th and the latest nov 24th so hopefully mine will be there monday-ish

That's wishful thinking.

Just be patient...it will come. Don't plan on it coming in early.
