Part of my uncles estate is LOTS of rechargeable batteries and cradles. Matter of fact I grabbed a big tool box full of that stuff a few days to play with. a lot of 3.7 volt lithium for some reason.
And when I say a lot of 3.7v. This is just one box full that I grabbed. Plenty more are still in the house. So many things are still left to go through. But as a farmer / engineer. Most of it is at least cool. This pic was just taken after emptying a tool box I grabbed Friday while at the farm. I can’t bring too much home because I’m getting packed.

Yep, everything has gotten outrageous expensive. My experience with Duracells is that they do put out power longer, but when done and you forget about them they leak the most and cause more corrosion damage than other brands.
You may have something there....Maybe I need to shop around?
For something like the megaphone I use to yell at my teens, I picked up the cheap ones at dollar store.
They darn sure do leak and corrode! I nearly ruined a flashlight with them.
I generally get my batteries from Amazon and shop around for the best deal. One of the things the wife likes to complain or brag about, I never can keep it straight, is my battery bin. I keep batteries for everything we use in the house in that bin, frome coin cells, to AAAA, on up to C Cells and 9 volts. I don't think I have any Ds at the moment due to us not needing any. I change out all my weapon sight and light batteries around Christmas time, so I take that into account in the bin.
18650 cells in pkgs. Rechargeable flashlight batteries. Good stuff
