Doing away with cash and making EVERYTHING digital will solve all the problems.

I am not one to be spouting off "there should be a law" for this or that, but I think a good law would be that employers have to give out cash in lieu of a check to the nearest dollar if a employee so requests!

I’d be upset.

Not trying to sound uppity, but this is why I scrapped by until I had a couple months worth of money sitting in my account.

The first gif when I searched “uppity” lol

Hmm unintended consequences… that would make some places a nice target and much easier than banks… Imagine how much cash would have to be at tech companies, the thunder and other sports teams, oil and gas companies. Would make for a good movie.

This just popped up on the local Tampa TV station. In three months it will come out that their system was hacked. But, don't worry. They will offer a free years worth of Experion ID theft.
No it won’t, ACH had issues.

The Federal Reserve alerted banks Friday afternoon the problem was caused by a “processing issue” at the private sector operator of the Automated Clearing House (ACH), a national network for processing transactions.

The ACH system allows banks to send electronic payments to each other. Everything from direct deposit paychecks to customer bill payments for mortgages and utility bills flow through this system.

The Fed said an “error” in a batch of payments delayed the processing of payments.

The Clearing House, the private sector operator of ACH, confirmed to CNN that it “experienced a processing issue” with a batch of bank transactions.

Whatever caused it it is ********. People don't work because they LIKE it. They work because they have bills to pay, kids to raise and dogs to feed. 🤷🤷 I worked for a small town restaurant back in the day. The gal who worked for him told me to go cash my check AT THE BANK it was drawn on, not to deposit it. Sure enough ... Everyone's paychecks bounced. That same night he closed up after business for the day was concluded, locked the doors and ... Will you look at that?? Guess who didn't show up for opening the next day ... Everyone how deposited their checks got stiffed. Everybody who cashed theirs dodged a bullet.

Didn't happen again for nearly 20 years but it did. Receptionist who also did the payroll checks for the firm gave us our checks before lunch and said "Go to the bank. Straight to the bank. Do NOT deposit this thing in your bank account ... Don't ask me, I'm not telling you." I said "I've been here before. Thanks for the head's up." The bank wanted to give me a hard time -- not sure what that was about -- but since there were available funds they didn't have a choice. Damn that lawyer was pissed. Lol

I've also argued with a credit union about cashing checks drawn on their institution. It's pretty bad when you have to explain to a teller and a district manager that checks are DEMAND NOTES ... And that if funds are available, are to be paid immediately payable upon presentation. 🤷🤦🤦I got my money but I honestly thought I'd lost that one for a split section. Don't play chicken with me. We will ALL die while you wait on me to blink. Lol
