I’m sure I’m not the first to try this, but I watched a brass cleaning video where the dude used ‘Zilla Desert Retile Bedding’ it’s ground up walnut shells. I was having trouble finding media, so I ordered some. This stuff worked better than anything I’ve used. I ordered off Amazon for $12ish for 15lbs. It’s very fine, and so far I’ve found no flash holes plugged as an added bonus. I’m sold on it for sure, beats the hell outta $35 for 16 lbs. plus he mentioned Petco or Petsmart one carries it.

I used the stuff when I first started vibratory cleaning my cases. Pet Smart had it.
A friend actually gave be a big bag of it.
I tried car polishes and waxes in it.. Tried BB's in it.. I tried mineral spirits in it.
The best thing I found to add to it was orange peels.

It has some cirtic acid and is a little damp.I tore them into 1/2" pieces and let them dry out a little over night on the counter then added them to the media.

I later built a liquid tumbler and seldom use the vibratory.
Maybe 1 time in 2 years it gets to vibrate some aluminum and steel cases clean.
