I’m trying to date this Remington 700 30-06 I have I know it’s old but I keep finding conflicting information online the letters on the left side of the barrel read kn 3m drm 32 the no number in front of the serial number is also throwing me for a loop and makes me think this is a very early model.

Your SN is all numbers and is 6 digit, which by my lifted info is between 1962 and 1968. They put letters in the SN after that it seems (for 700s I guess).
Your letter code looks like an M which makes it 1965 which would seem to correspond with the low SN you have. Cool

Thanks for the info. Me abs my grandpa used to love that kind of stuff but it has been a while since I came across something like that. Gun probably could tell some stories and just like most 700s it’s a hell of a shooter

My guess would be KN = May/1966 The stuff after more likely were repairs

Heck no that seems to double the price with some of these people! It’s got a little surface rust and is a little beat up, so it appears to h have life’s a good life and been enjoyed by somebody else before I got ahold of it

I’d rather have it than a new one built today!
