Dillon 650 question

Does the 650 require special dies? I was at the Dillon site and it says that it throws the powder through the expander die. I don't think RCBS dies can do that.
Your thoughts?

The powder / expander die is special. The rest can be swapped out no problem.

Lee dies are barely long enough but all I have tried are good to go

Thanks for the info. My main concern is that if I get a 650, I will need a lot of extras before I can actually reload.

to reload for a specific caliber on the 650, you need,

a toolhead $24
a dillon powder die (works for all cals) $11
a conversion kit for the caliber $76
die set with sizer, seater and/or crimp die ($62 for a dillon set, nice dies)

The conversion kit comes with a powder through beller(expander) that sits in the powder die

Hi,

Ty is right, no dies come with the 650 (or 550). The SDB and 1050 do come with dies.

My favorite dies are Redding Pro Series, they are only $10 more than Dillon.
