What????

My fuzzy hearing needs good and fairly loud sound to get the detail. My wife has a pair of pricy Bose noise cancelling earphones. Nice if you're sitting still, but I'm usually moving if I have any form of portable audio on. I messed with typically crappy earbuds for running, motorcycle riding and when mowing on the tractor then stumbled into a comprehensive "Best 100 earbuds" review on MP4nation.net. Not wanting to injure my cheap bone, I focused on the best under $50 models, and found the Brainwavz M1 buds.

Marked improvement over the crap that I'd used before and very well constructed. Happy with them until I apparently dropped them on the way into work and never saw them again. I then ordered the next model up- M2's and a compact, rechargable headphone amp. Very nice as well, and the amp helps my little Ipod shuffle get decent volume to my ears while running. I wanted an extra pair to leave with my motorcycle helmet and saw that they were pre-ordering the latest model, the M-5 at a sale price. Ordered a set and they sucked. No where near the sound quality and the cords were wispy/ thin. Shipped from Hong Kong, the return wasn't worth it so they went to the kids.

I'd recommend the Brainwavz M1's as a great value with great sound for the price.
