Here's what I want to know. Is she married? If she doesn't end up with a felony, I'd be interested in meeting her. :chat: She's quite cute. Best mugshot I've seen in a long time. I'd be happy to help her understand Oklahoma firearms laws better... :-)

JB, if you find her, how about hooking a guy up? :wink2:

LOL. I swear my first thought was that is why he wanted to represent her for free. :-)

If she stopped on school property, had a CC, and informed the officer, is it coercion for him to ask her to step out of the car? As I understand the law, so long as you have a CC and stay in your car, you're perfectly legal. But if he knew she was legally carrying and made her leave her car on school property, wouldn't that be forcing her to break the law?

I don't know the specifics of this case, it's just a hypothetical.

I would think she would not be guilty of leaving it in the vehicle unattended. The officer can ask you to step out of the vehicle if he feels it helps to make the detainment more safe, ie. getting separation between her and the weapon in the car. It sounds like this was more a violation of not identifying yourself as a CC holder and notifying the officer that you are armed. I have heard debate on when it is required to do so, however, I am not one to push my luck. I would immediately notify the officer as he steps up to my vehicle, while keeping very still with both hands visibly on the stearing wheel, and let the officer direct me as to his chosen course of action. I don't know that she actually left the vehicle prior to him pulling her over. The mention of the ID she was wearing, could indicate that it lead to some sort of questioning in which she admitted to doing so, prior to being pulled over.
