Don’t be a Dick’s: Anti-Gun Gun Store’s Income Sinks

..."Dick’s Sporting Goods shares have declined $14.59, or 25 percent, to $43.51 since the beginning of the year."...

..."Dick’s has been looking for a way to get back into the growing, profitable end of the gun market without bringing down the wrath of the Bloomberg Rent-a-Moms, who were praising it when it threw the gun culture overboard."

Did you read the entire article? It was talking about how all stores like academy and others should stop selling guns because they suck at it. Said they don't know how to do the paperwork and all. And that if someone goes into a place like Walmart that they basically don't know jack about guns and that they get all their insight from Hollywood. Whoever wrote this article is a moron. I have bought 2 guns from Walmart and loved the experience. It was very easy and both rifles were much cheaper than other places. And the colt that this idiot references in this story is one of the rifles I bought from Walmart. It has the monolithic rail and also came with a magpul looking stock that said colt on it. I have yet to see one other rifle like it. They usually come with the regular stock. I only paid $1200 for it as well. Gee, what kind of idiot would buy a gun from Walmart?

Did you read the whole article? I believe that what you are refering to is a REPLY TO THE ARTICLE, not the article.

And how much of those declining sales were attributable to gun owners going elsewhere when they wanted a new set of clubs? Gun owners buy other things too. I'm not too sure of the parallel that the author drew. There isn't a lot of profit margin in guns themselves for the retailers, but the manufacturers are a whole different dataset.

The one - and only - time I went to Dick's in MWC I was looking for gun socks for some .22s I was giving as Christmas presents to great-nephews. The moron behind the sporting goods counter was more interested in finding a pair of binoculars for a guy (an obvious birdwatcher-type) than he was in the 3 other customers trying to by hunting gear. I never got a price on the gun socks so I went to Wally World instead.

Eff' em....Dick's Sporting Goods is scum just like Cheaper Than Dirt. I haven't spent a dime with any of "those" companies since they showed their true colors.

I think the true gun enthusiast stopped going to these stores after they turned there back on us. They stopped guns sales and throttled back on ammo to cater towards the new generation of Obama lovers! So now they are realizing they created a bad business decision. People won't go to a store they don't respect! I also think the economy has some to do with this..
