Aside from being stupid, their big loss comes from golf declining in popularity. I did not and probably won't read the article. It sounds like the author wants to say I told you so without knowing the subject matter. Insert Sweet Brown phrase here.

"Get back into the firearms retail business"?

They never got out of it, they just never focused on it. The Field and Stream line looks to be an offshoot that will focus on hunting, fishing etc....instead of competitive sports like Dick's does.

Looks like a good thing to me.

I think the true gun enthusiast stopped going to these stores after they turned there back on us. They stopped guns sales and throttled back on ammo to cater towards the new generation of Obama lovers! So now they are realizing they created a bad business decision. People won't go to a store they don't respect! I also think the economy has some to do with this..

As an alternative theory, shouldn't we reward those who realize their mistakes and make good on them? Wouldn't that encourage others to do the same?

Just a thought.

I would think that loss of income and the irate customers slamming them on their website for a year or so now might be the impact to make them reconsider their ill thought decisions.

You have got to be kidding, right? Lib dems never realize that they have made a mistake(let alone admit to having made it). And they never learn from their mistakes for their future actions, case in point is Barack Obama(one of the multitude/plethora of lib dem mistake makers). Also could you envision M. Bloomberg admiting that his gun control measures are a crock? You can also be sure that Bloomberg will never give up his 24/7 squad of bodyguards/goons to protect his rearend and that Bloomberg doesn't give a rats rearend as to whether or not we would die if they took our guns away under his gun control measures and couldn't defend ourselves, our families and our homes/possessions. He has got his protection---and that's all that counts with lib dems like Bloomberg.

After a few threads, I'm picking up a new employee, or the father of a new employee. Dicks is a dick. I'll never shop there.

Sometimes one has to take a stand. I'm taking mine on stores that are anti-gun, and those that didn't stay with us through the crisis. Its not over yet.

Nope. No connection to Dick's at all.

Just getting a giggle out of the "I've gotta take a stand" thing from people who still do business with other stores that caved to pressure in the past, like Walmart.
