Eating out - am I expecting too much?

One restaurant my wife and I used to frequent has added a service fee to their receipt for a percentage of the total bill before tax and they have taken the bowl of mints off of the counter beside the register. We have stopped going to several places because of shrinkflation

Yes you are. Traditional sausage sandwiches will be small. The big one will be made out of cricket sausage and wood fiber biscuits per the orders of the WEF and george soros. You've been woked.

This is why my wife and I quit eating out a couple years back! The feeling you get when they just stick it in without any lube is anything but enjoyable. We went to our old Pre-Covid restaurant and enjoyed our meal but once the $40 for the meal and 20% for a tip and another 10% for tax, set in it just made the entire meal suck. $55 for nothing special really made us feel like fools for allowing ourselves to be taken advantage of.

You can get the lube, but it's extra

The 16 oz tea with no refills is $3.20.

I wouldnt pay them prices unless it was a full course meal with good size servings of good eatable food and i dont do business with places that automatically add tips to my order, I would have got up and left as soon as i looked at the menu.

Me too. The wife and I have a go to look, when our eyes meet after a menu gaze, and one of us has that look, we move on down the road.
