I had nothing but Sony TV's and electronics for 40+ years. I bought a 55" XBR top of the line (expensive at the time) TV about 15 years ago. It died shortly after the warranty period. I contacted Sony and they refused to even look at the TV. I swore I'd never buy another Sony product.

If you have a multimeter, put it on resistance, and check the power plug (part that goes into the receptacle) on the feed and neutral legs. If you have a ground condition (very low resistance) or an open (no connection or in the 3 meg range) you have an issue on the power supply board. Not sure the model, but the one for my old Vizio was like $15 on Ebay.

We can get into taking the back off the TV, but it might be worth your time and patience to get a new TV.

(edited to add: Have the power plug connected to the TV.)

Bought a Fire TV Insignia F20 series 32" TV for my workshop for about $95 from Best Buy about a year aog, thinking it's so cheap if it craps out I'll just throw it out. I actually spent more on a swiveling arm wall bracket than I spent on the TV. Turned out to be the best-working little tv I've ever had, bright, sharp picture, excellent audio, works just fine every time. Can't understand how the Chinese can make these for this price point. I don't know anything about the larger Insignia models, but this little 32" is a definite winner and was ridiculously low-priced.

We have a Sony 43". Never a blip, for 14 years.
Bought a Sony 65", first of the year. Hope it lasts like the other one. It is in bedroom and still works like new.

Check the support site on power supply and power switch. Also, some models have an interior fuse, for surge protection. May be an easy fix, maybe not. How much do want to fool with it?
Bravia is probably worth looking into fixing.

Sony / Best Buy MAY refuse to come out because of parts availability or cost of service call makes replacement a better option. Most things have been made to be replaced, not repaired. Shame, such a waste. Used to be a Fix-It shop in every town, but burger flippers expecting $20+ / hr and parts non-availability .......

When I was in electronics school ('70s), all of the teachers, friends, family brought us their TVs, stereo, and other things to fix. Most parts we got from Radio Shack or stripped from junk pile.

I have no experience with the Insignia, but that is an awesome price.
