I was wondering the same thing, I also wondered if it could catch fire like a grease fire occasionally can??

i use to make candles with a bowl of water and add cooking oil with a bottle cap with a hole in the middle of it and add a cotton wick into the hole in cap and let it float on top of the water/oil in bowl.

i would think that the temp of a wick would be well below the flashpoint, grease catches on fire when all of the grease is HOT and it of course smokes first, but that smell would make you very hangry

My question is why would you waste BACON grease on light???? Much less tasty fats around to use for that
