Numerous sources speaking on the condition of anonymity have confirmed that Ruger will re-release the Charger Model (discontinued in 2013) as an SR model.

Ruger will formally announce this new model at the 2014 NRA Annual meeting in Indianapolis according to sources.

Sources compare the SR Charger platform in function(monolithic receiver/integral rail) assembly_12-tfb-tm.jpg and appearance to the defunct Zimmerman pistol pistol-14-a.jpg, except that it will have a AR style rear charging handle, rear cleaning port/plug, auto bolt release, last shot hold open, SR-22 rifle flip up aperture open sights, 10" threaded target barrel and mini 14 style flash hider.

A single point AR pistol style rear sling attachment is included, but like the SR22 rifle the pistol buttstock and grip will be compatible with other AR components and will be pistol stabilizing brace compatible(PSB's will be available on shopruger.com and will be eligible for the 20% Online Owner Notification Information system registration discount).

Included is one BX-25 magazine.

MSRP is rumored to be $439.

This just in...

Anonymous sources confirm Ruger will announce an SR Charger optic equipped model sporting a Redfield Counterstrike (red/green) dot/laser sight combo that co-witnesses with the flip up sights and the laser will clear the front flip-up sight when lowered.

MSRP is rumored to be $539.

Sorry, I just can't seem to stop myself.

I was listening to Gun Talk last weekend when they were discussing what firearm that is no longer being produced you'd like to see re-introduced and this(in this configuration) was one of the first ones I thought of(that weren't mentioned), despite the fact it's use basically would extend to being an uber range toy. I just had to get this crazy idea out of my head so it would quit bouncing around in there somehow.
