I like Rugers, and always have.

Having said that, I used to run a FARO laser tracker (aviation), and still am not GD&T savvy. But I get what you guys are saying.

Lockheade Martin had issues with it to.

Lockheed figured it out for their stuff of late. The F22 parts that I worked on had no issues with it. Same for F16, F35 and the latest revisions of C130. There was a "company" that did R&D weapon systems for the military that I worked with some that was unbelievably bad. As a matter of fact I'm not sure then had a "draftsman" on staff at all. But their 3D solid models were friggin perfect. All surfaces trimmed to perfection, we didn't have to do a thing to the models to put CNC path to them. But as for dimensioning and tolerancing, they had not a clue.

As to the OP, I would absolutely love to have an 8 shot .357 magnum Super Redhawk. S&W's 627 is the only game in town for USPSA revolver division and I like Ruger's cylinder release a whole lot better and the durability of the Rugers have no equal.

Was the R&D company based out of Pennsylvania?

Some of you guy's need to research Ruger's history. Ruger did attempt to produce the Mini in .308. Even with a heavy barrel the Mini action wouldn't stand up to the abuse of the .308 cartridge. 9MM and .40SW carbines have been made, and are no longer made.

I'm beginning to think that ruger may have heard something loud and clear from this VOC survey:

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for that SR Charger chambered in .22 WMR with a nordic components kit and PSB to gain traction, but I won't hold my breath.

I know this is an old thread but what would a Ruger .308 mini offer that a M1A doesn't have? I'm pretty sure Ruger would make it have a proprietary $45 magazine as well.
