Aviator, you're learning just what CAS will do to a person! I casted a bunch of bullets for my .44-40 last night. Now gotta get 'em lubed and sized and pushed into some brass.

Speaking of CAS, my local club, Badlands Bar 3, had a Gatling gun on one of their stages Saturday. 10 pistol, 10 from the Gat, and 4 shotgun. I had to work Friday night, so I didn't get to go. Sure would have been fun! Y'all need to plan a week-end and come shoot at Badlands. Drive down Friday, shoot Saturday and Sunday and head home. Only a little over 4 hours from OKC.

That sounds like fun! Do you have a website address I could visit to get more info on the matches? I read over on the SASS website about the Gatling gun, chance of a lifetime!! Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll bring it back out some day.

We're really wanting to do our first traveling match. This would be the perfect first outing I think.

and yes, we have the cowboy disease BAD.

Nice! Pretty much how I do it. That way it's there when I'm ready.

What originally started this project was me not wanting to store an entire bucket of nasty wheel weights in the garage. I was shocked at how, volume-wise, much room it saves to do it like this. I know we tossed a lot of non-lead out but we're still very happy with the yield of the bucket. Based on calculations, this will be enough lead to keep us shooting for about 6 months. That's two matches a month and two practices a month for all three of us.

Running out of powder is now my biggest concern. We're going through it quickly, that a primers.

Of course, I have to pick the middle of the ammo/powder shortage to get into competitive shooting. Yeah, that was a smart idea.

Still an enjoyable hobby. I've gotten to where I do most of my casting in the fall. Gives me something to stay busy with during the winter.

Really great bunch of folks. Did I mention they have dry camping on the range?

Also check out his Cowboy Guns Facebook page.

I've got a video of T-Bone shooting the stage with the Gatling on my Facebook page, but don't know how to copy the link to here. The Gat would have been more fun with my .45Colt loads. Lot's more smoke!

If you decide to come down for a match, let me know. I'll try to show up too!
