After several hours, more than a few curse words, multiple online resources I swallowed my pride and put in the call to OSAs very own, SMS. (Known him since my AF days, kind of my firearms "mentor")

Holy crap I felt like I needed an engineering degree, but I got her back together now I just need to get the process down pat.

Anyway from my mistakes I stumbled across some helpful webpages, so hopefully those of you who tackle this the first time won't go on the "adventure" I did.

I'm thinking a can of gun scrubber in the future....can you say over engineered!

Does your bride know all your phonebooks are in tatters on the shop floor?

PITA. That's what I have to say about them. Some people just hose them down with carb cleaner and call it good.

Right here!!!!! Hose them down, let them sit and drain, clean the bore, scrub all you can inside the ejection port, spray again, drain, and lube. Been doing this for years since my one and only time tearing down a MKII!!!!

My solution that only requires an allen wrench to remove the bolt and gets rid of the magazine disconnect too which reduces trigger pull... :)

How much does that kit cost dutch?

And, does it work with a MK2 ?

It works for all Mk series. Price is $49. The 3.2 bushing add on (which rids the MkIII's of the magazine disconnect/spring) is an additional $13. Nice to have the magazine pop and drop. Trigger pull on my 22/45 is so much better without the goofy disconnect. Gotta test it out now at the range since I just installed it this evening. Took about one hour and was a simple job.

I bought this from Majestic Arms: http://www.majesticarms.com/id10.html Took almost two months for it to ship though.

If a MkIII owner wants a really inexpensive alternative to remove the magazine disconnect only, check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWHEMJDFBSc
