Sounds logical and reasonable to me. Which is why it won't happen. I haven't seen too many logical and reasonable politicians!!!

One certainly can argue legitimately that taxing arms necessarily "infringes" the right to keep and bear arms in that it makes arms less affordable, therefore more difficult to obtain. It further is a heavily discriminatory infringement in that the citizens most infringed are those least able to afford arms. It is a targeted, regressive infringement against the ability of the poorest to arm themselves.
