It held its leaves a bit longer this year. Everything else dropped long ago. I bet we have a cold winter, we are due a cold cold one.

Mine dropped all it's leaves yesterday in one day. Pretty amazing to watch. It's bare today. Time to get the mower out and chop some leaves.

When people say the bugs die off in the I think to myself, “ Nah, those bugs just hide until they are ready to emerge and be the pestilence they are.”

Personally I’m ready for some cooler weather, 30-60’s is ok but nothing like a 20 degree day with wind cutting…then I can use the carhartt for a couple days and remember I like snow but not all the time. Plus it means spring is that much closer.

To prevent freezing I use lightbulbs in my barn beneath automatic waterers for my goats. I just put them on yesterday in preparation for the forecast temps. I think this is the latest I’ve ever waited to put them on. Bummed when they started phasing out the incandescents with LEDs. Getting harder and more expensive to find them anymore

Exactly. Went out to the shop this afternoon to work on a project. It was a tad chilly, so fired up the double barrel wood stove and started working on the reel my dad used when I was a child. Found it when doing a winter garage clean.
As the shop warmed up, noticed a wasp on one window and a little moth crawl out from under an instruction manual and fly off.
They do indeed hide until it warms up.
