With the outside temps at single digits, the electric heat strips take over. Heat pumps are worthless when temps get this low. With a heat pump, the house may even be getting warm by now...warmer, anyhow...
Ah, but you only mentioned the heat pump installer and what they found. As an fyi, they only found pumps worthless in low temps after selling only pumps to many many a home owner, which I am sure you know. With the outside temps at single digits, the electric heat strips take over. I'm surprised she's stayed this long and didn't leave in the middle of the night last week! Sounds like she's missing her folks and wants to see ya a couple more days. I'd lean towards Weds if were me - stop and get fixins for soup/chili then just stay in. If it gets worse than forecast(very likely) or pushes out a day, she may be in a worse situation. Saturday doesn't leave much time to get ready for the start of school either IMO.My daughter has been waffling about when to head back to Norman, and she really wants to wait until Saturday. I’ve suggested she might want to leave Wednesday and get ahead of what’s supposed to be hitting up there on Thursday, and I just saw this morning that DFW is supposed to get some nasty weather starting Wednesday afternoon.
What do y’all think is the safest option? Leave Wednesday morning or wait until Saturday?
We’re of the same opinion. She’s made comments about not being able drive anywhere to get food, but I reminded her that she lives right next door to a neighborhood WMart.I'm surprised she's stayed this long and didn't leave in the middle of the night last week!
