Man, is it dry at our place! Given the soil is mostly sand it just gets in the wind and covers everything. I wish that I had a choice - it was either this past weekend or 2nd weekend in Oct given my other obligations. Coated seed I hope will be okay on the ground for a couple of weeks AND I hope we don't get 1 rain that's enough to germinate then no rain for another week and it all dies.

Oh, well, is what it is. The seed isn't nearly as expensive as the fertilizer and I figure that will help the overall soil conditions even if the seed doesn't come up as expected.

In ‘22, I planted here in TX Sept 1 and had to replant Oct 17 because everything died due to no rain. I didn’t plant my customer’s plots until Oct 20th. Last year, I planted in OK on Oct 3 and here in TX on Oct 11th.
From what’s forecasted (or not forecasted), I may not plant this year until October. :rolleyes2
Rain forecast this weekend and next week, but we all know how reliable that is.
My seed is in the ground. Dusted in the wheat , waiting for moisture.

The app I use has a little forecasted for Sunday in Cherokee but not enough accumulation to settle the dust, but Byron and Henrietta ain’t got nothing. :rolleyes2

We picked up 1/2" at the Salt Fork place in Kay County, but nothing in Grant county. More predicted so fingers are crossed.

Planted half a plot yesterday, just wheat and some leftover beans. Soil hasn't been touched all summer other than sprayed and burned off about 7 weeks ago. 1" of rain on it about 2 weeks ago. Zero moisture when I pulled the drill through it yesterday.
