I had one from the nice batch that came in 20 years ago it was enough to sell me on the idea the french make meh guns unless its a manuhrin revolver then those are amazing . I learned over most of my life I am not a must have it surplus guy that needs everything they import, but at one point I did love mausers a lot. As I've aged and my eyes have matured many surplus rifles no longer as much cache as they once did.

Plus a $1200 for a MAS is $900 more than I'd want to pay

On that we agree. Had a Mab model d 380 years ago. Friend managed to shoot himself in the ass with it.
