It is perhaps America’s most unsafe airport. Despite being the launching point for one of the planes hijacked on 9/11 — Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania — Newark Airport has had numerous security violations since. Reminds me of a quote from the Denzel Washington movie The Siege: "What if what they really want is for us to herd our children into stadiums like we're doing? And put soldiers on the street and have Americans looking over their shoulders? Bend the law, shred the Constitution just a little bit?" All the theatrics involved in airport security piss me off to no end

I was going through the line at Houston Hobby and I was struggling to get my boots off, and the guy just sort of motioned me to come ahead on. It was like "no way this ignernt ass hillbillie is up to anything"
I felt a little insulted, ackcherly.

I believe the two notable attempts failed (shoe and underwear) for reasons not related to TSA. That said the appearance of security is a form of security in and of itself.
