Markings are wrong, stock is wrong. However, my guess is you are partially correct.
I"m thinking it began life as a 1908 and then was updated during the 8mm standardization program. Although it is weird they would scrub and remark the receiver. However, the Turks were a bit sensitive about the Ottoman past and I can see them doing that.
There just isn't any info about this rifle and very little about how they went about their Mauser Standardization program.
Oh man! Back in the day I would have loved to have that in my collection.
You need to take it apart and stop the rust, or mung as Mark would say.
