An interesting piece of trivia. 'Topes' is the Mexican slang for speed bumps. They have a lot of them and they get really annoying. On my first long drive into Mexico I kept hitting them and if you were traveling too fast it would jar your teeth.

Stopped for lunch and made a casual joke to the waitress..."Me gustaria topes refritos." I'd prefer refried topes." She gives me this really weird look, kind of insulted. I ask the guys at the next table if I said something wrong. They completely cacked up and told me that 'Topes' is also slang for a woman's tits.

Color me embarrassed.
