Yep. My last job (at the grocery store) I finally stopped going in there to shop because every time they see me they want to know if I'm ready to come back to work. It got kinda embarrassing.
About a month or two ago it seemed like every restaurant I went in told me all their summer help had left for college and they were looking for help. Kinda felt sorry for them. Even more when I told them I was enjoying retirement and wasn’t interested. Since then I keep seeing baby boomers working those jobs so I guess they knew it was worth the shot.
Haven't worked for a company yet that would give much consideration to solutions from their floor employees.
I have. But yeah it’s not common.
