Senior Special Agent defines what magazines are for jurors: 'it's what holds the bullets'.

Also just heard that Chauvin weighs 140lb. Not sure how much it matters, but first I'd heard it mentioned.

I’m pretty sure I heard the defense attorney bring that up during his opening statement on day 1 of trial. Chauvin is a kinda puny little guy.

I would suggest reading this:
https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-police-immunity-guns/
And here's the Second Amendment Foundation's release on their amicus brief in case that's the main subject of the article:
https://www.saf.org/saf-files-amicus-brief-in-case-florida-mans-death-by-police/

It's these type of cases as well as the no-knocks that give me some pause. I could probably be convinced that qualified immunity needs recalibrated some. I don't think it should be eliminated outright because that just seems like invited chaos.

I do think no-knocks or the knock and kick down door type events should be MUCH rarer. Any of those happening at the wrong address/house where a gun owner lives is almost guaranteed to end in a fatality.

I'm not sure that I'm entirely sold on the wholesale elimination of QI, but it definitely needs to be recalibrated so it can't be used to protect people who would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for their actions if their paychecks weren't coming out of the public treasury.

Yesterday the expert made this statement.

"A healthy person subjected to what Mr. Floyd was subjected to would have died as a result of what he was subjected to," Tobin said.

Does that not seem just a little strong? Not 'could', but 'WOULD'?

I hate to break it to you, but human anatomy is pretty much the same regardless of your state of intoxication.

Yeah, but your ability to breath isn't quite the same when using meth and fentanyl, right? 90% blockage in your heart also couldn't have an impact?

I'd expect him to say Chauvin caused the death, he's a prosecution witness. But to say without qualification a healthy person WOULD have died seems like an over reach.

People walk around every day with greater degrees of blockage. There’s probably a few people on this board that have that much blockage or more. It’s not over reaching to to say that any other person would have died as a result. Bottom line is that you want to blame his death on himself and not the person who kept a knee on his neck for 9 minutes. Human beings don’t do well if the don’t have oxygen or blood flow to their brain for more than 3 minutes.
