good 30.06 load

i am looking for a good load for a 3006. i have just loaded 40 rounds with 165 nosler bt backed by 55 grs of imr 4831 im hoping this load will be good out of a 22in barrel any suggestions

You probably have a good load there, cant go wrong with Nosler. If its accurate enough for you.
My best load is a Nosler 165 accubond with 57gr of H4350 behind it loaded to a 3.340 OAL. Fired out of a 26" Rem 700 SPS.
I have worked up loads for two different 30-06 rifles with both 4350 and 4831, IMR and Hogdon. One had a 22" barrel the others 26. Both the loads with 4831 were more accurate with lower charges and the 4350 more accurate with hotter loads wether IMR orHogdon. I wanted the hottest and fastest I could get without sacraficing accuracy so 4350 it was and the Hogdon pushed it a little faster. Got the same results with 180 gr bullets too.
Also, seating the bullets closer to the lands at all different depths didnt make any difference in these 30-06 rifles.
Just my experience.

57 to 58 gns of IMR 4350 or H4350 is a known and classic accuracy load for the 30-06 with 165gn bullets.

thanks guys i went with imr 4831 because it was a little more compatible with the other calibers i reload such as 243,270,and 2506 yes i know ive more guns than i need at least thats what the says so i applied for a ffl and put her name on it next to mine hehehe

Barnes 150 grain TTSX, 60 grains H414, Fed. 210M This is the max load from Barnes Shoots sub MOA in my 22 inch Remington at a bit over 3,000 fps

This load is good for almost any 165 grain bullet. Hornady, Sierra, or nosler.
