These two came out Saturday in spite of the heat. Wish I'd had a shotgun, too, to clear out the little ones in their company.

Oops I did it again! 2 of us watching a wheat stubble field. About 0030 the hogs filtered out of the Johnson grass on the edge of the field. The pigs were hugging the cover the entire time as we snuck in. We were about 400 yards away from where they came out. We eased in until we were about 75 yards away and counted down to fire. We each dropped a hog and hit at least 1 more before they made it into the tall Johnson Grass. Neither of us wanted to get covered in ticks and suffer the allergies to track the other 2 down.
Another one bites the dust.
Put a couple miles on the boots in the moonlight tonight. Farmer said we could drive wherever we wanted to, we wouldn't hurt the newly planted wheat. Even though he said that, we used the cart to get the pigs over to the pasture. I think one had bacon seeds inside her. Almost as much fun as one can have.

Are these pigs good eating or just pest?
Yes! Most feral pigs are great table fare. They are also a huge nuisance.
