I have recently joined and had a couple other posts similar to this one so I will just cut to it.
I have this Poly Tech AK-47 that I am looking to sell but I am not sure what it’s value is and haven’t really been able to narrow down the exact ID on it, I will post some pictures.
It is a Mod. 223, 5.56x45, with the folding stock and folding bayonet.

I’m not sure but I believe someone has messed with it. The rear trunion has Allen head bolts. Im not super familiar with Chinese AKs mainly Romanian and Russian. I’ve never seen a factory AK with Allen bolts. I’m thinking it use to have a fixed wood stock on it and someone altered it. Other than that it looks to be a nice example of a Chicom. Mags are a beach to source for it. As for value? I’m not totally sure. I’d guess over a grand to two.

I believe that particular rifle may actually be unaltered and would be a pre-ban model 84S-2 which is fairly scarce. The hex screws in lieu of rivets is strange, but they may have been used for a period of time. I'd suggest signing up on AK Files, posting the photos there and asking for a valuation. You will have plenty of pm's asking to purchase it, so don't take the first offer that you receive.

Have never seen a factory AK with screws instead of rivets; it's usually done by those building themselves, with no ability or way to install rivets. Someone likely drilled the receiver for the folding trunion, and added that stock to a standard 84S, then not having the ability to correctly install rivets, used bolts instead. Those stocks were also available on some Chinese air guns that were selling not long ago - the stocks look the real part, but aren't actual, "real" AK stocks. So that's my guess.

After doing some additional research, that is my conclusion as well. I can't find any examples of a sidefolder 84S-2 with a spike bayonet, so the rifle has almost definitely been pieced together. The 84S-2 would have featured a birdcage flash hider as well.

I'd still be sure post photos on AK Files. Despite it's issues, the rifle is still a preban model and many collectors would be interested if it is restorable to it's original configuration.
