Parents--remember, it was his mom who brought him--have a lot of power over/right-to-act for their children. With her dead, all parental rights vest in his father, who withdrew the application, and had to fight to get him returned over the wishes of his cousins here in the US (whose rights as kin are junior to dad's).DAVE70968 ...... it totally does apply to this situation and I understand parental rights and laws. What rights did he have or his fiduciary have to apply for Asylum(isn't this the same asylum the Mexican Border folks and children are seeking???) for him through his relatives? It's extremely funny or ironic how the Central and Southern Americans are allowed or at least "sorted" out and the ones deemed okay allowed to apply. His mother and boyfriend fleeing not only a poor country but a Communist Country, one that Fidel ruled with an iron fist...that's not enough for the past Democrats and President to step in and help...like they're doing to President Trump now?
Why did Clinton and Reno not step in and help him....AND....keep him from going back to a Communist country that his mother, her boyfriend, and her child were fleeing?
Bottom line: The point I was trying to make is that the LIBS and DEMOS darn sure pick and chose what laws and social issues they want to help and ignore.....must be who's in the Whitehouse when they'll respond or how they'll respond.
Sorry, but sending him back to the person who had all rights to him was the correct thing to do. I don't like consigning people to life under Communism, but I like disregarding the rule of law and parents' rights even more. If my son's mom were to try to remove him from the country against my wishes, I'd fight like hell to prevent it.
