Not sure about the HF model, but a lot of folks are fans of the imported multi-machines that were about $1K.

I want a TIG machine even though right now my use would be minimal. I want to learn to TIG so that is a driver as well.

I'm probably going to wait and look for a deal on a new machine, or find a good used machine and skip the Chicom import.

I know most look down on cheap china machines but for home use some of it actually works and works pretty well. Not a welder but I bought a cheap import plasma cutter off Amazon couple years ago and I would buy it again if I needed another one. It works, has done everything I needed or expected, it's not all complete junk.

I've had very few problems with HF tools (or their other products), and no trouble with their warranty when required.
