So long story short, black gang members carjack, kidnap and later murder a reserve police officer. DoJ takes over the case from VA (which has the death penalty) under the auspices of RICO and/or murder of a law enforcement officer statutes. Holder personally decides to remove the death penalty from the prosecution.

Press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office back in May:

http://www.fbi.gov/richmond/press-releases/2014/eight-indicted-on-federal-racketeering-charges
A federal grand jury sitting in the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia in Charlottesville has returned an indictment charging eight individuals with federal racketeering, narcotics, robbery, kidnapping, and murder charges related to a string of violent episodes across Central Virginia that included the alleged carjacking, kidnapping and murder of Waynesboro Reserve Police Captain Kevin Quick. A ninth defendant has been charged federally with obstruction of justice.
In an indictment returned under seal on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, and unsealed this morning following the defendants’ initial court appearances, the grand jury has charged the following:
• Daniel Lamont Mathis, 18, of Charlottesville, Virginia
• Shantai Monique Shelton, 24, of Charlottesville, Virginia
• Mersadies Lachelle Shelton, 20, of Charlottesville, Virginia
• Travis Leon Bell, 23, of Front Royal, Virginia
• Anthony Leon White, 22, of Louisa, Virginia
• Gert Arthur Lee Wright, III, 23, of Manassas, Virginia
• Anthony Darnell Stokes, 32, of Manassas, Virginia
• Devante O’Brian Bell, 20, of Louisa, Virginia
• Leslie Hope Casterlow, 50, of Manassas, Virginia
According to the indictment, those charged today are either members or associates of the 99 Goonz Syndikate set of the Bloods criminal street gang. The indictment alleges that members of this gang participated in a pattern of racketeering from December 2012 to April 2014 that included violent armed robberies, the kidnapping and murder of Kevin Quick, the sale of narcotics, and the obstruction of justice after that incident.
Mathis, Shantai Shelton, Mersadies Shelton, Travis Bell, Anthony White, and Devante Bell are charged with conducting several armed robberies of both commercial businesses and individuals in Louisa, Charlottesville, Albemarle County, Fluvanna County, and Gordonsville. It is alleged that this series of robberies were conducted using firearms and were conducted to financially benefit the collective group.
Anthony Stokes, Gert Wright, and Leslie Casterlow are charged with obstructing justice by assisting other members of the conspiracy destroy evidence and elude apprehension following the kidnapping and murder of Kevin Quick.
The investigation of the case was conducted by the Virginia State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Albemarle County Police Department, the Charlottesville City Police Department, the Louisa County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, the Waynesboro Police Department, the Henrico County Police Department, the Gordonsville Police Department, the Goochland County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, the Fluvanna County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, and the Prince William County Police Department.
United States Attorney Timothy J. Heaphy, Assistant United States Attorney Ronald M. Huber, and Special Assistant United States Attorney and Louisa County Commonwealth’s Attorney Russell E. McGuire will prosecute the case for the United States.

Announced last week by USA Heaphy, AG Holder took the death penalty off the table in the prosecutions. No explanation as to why is given, but locally some media outlets are trying to claim that it could be because death penalty cases are unpopular and as a result, more difficult to win. WTF??? The worst that could happen is the jury recommends LWOP, right? Stupidest. Excuse. Ever…

P.S. Anyone else remember the national media frenzy over this case the way they're covering Ferguson? Yeah, me neither...

Holder is temporary attorney general. He and O'bummer last year said they wanted minority criminals to be given lighter sentences because they are only criminals because white cops go after them because of race. This is all part of the plan to reduce the USA to third world status. That's why they are causing anger amongst the blacks in Ferguson. This is all part of the progressive/communist master plan for George Soros to take charge as the one world emperor.

And the second article states that the death penalty is off the table for four of the six subjects, not that it's off the table for all of them.
Sounds normal that they would only charge the two that they know they can convict.

Reading comprehension fail for you Ig:

Additionally, two other man, 22-year-old Halisi Uhuru of Danville and 31-year-old Darnell Stokes Jr. of Manassas, were charged with Principle 2nd Degree Capital Murder During Abduction. That charge is different from Capital Murder in that it is not punishable by the death penalty, but by life in prison.

None of them will face the death penalty. :(

Holder's decision was to take the death penalty off the table for four of the six subjects, according to the second link in the OP. I don't know if its a good source or a bad source. I don't know if it's true or false. The article CLAIMS that Holder took the death penalty off the table for four of the six subjects. If none of the six will face the death penalty the article does not link that to a decision by Holder.

What part of the article telling you that the other two were not charged with a crime for which the death penalty was available do you not understand???
