The war on drugs sucks.

Werd. If marijuana wasn't illegal, it wouldn't be profitable for the suppliers to pay guys to camp out and run these public land, outdoor grow ops.

As much as I am 100% opposed to drug prohibition, in the meantime I gotta say fawk these guys, simply because of their misuse of public land, the damage to the environment they cause and potential danger to folk who be recreationin' there.

In an ideal world it'd be legal and these cats would go out of business, but until then; get the fawk off my public land with that sheet, Jose. And take your tortillas with you.

I bet them hunters took the money and then snitched anyway.

Lawl, my theory is it looked like a good hunting spot and they just wanted them to GTFO so they could come back and hunt. And I doubt the cats at the camp had 10k on them.

Wasn't there a family that went missing in Oklahoma a couple years ago that some think they may have stumbled into a field like this one?

Jamison family, and they did disappear two years ago...during pot harvest time (early October). But there are way, way to many weird things surrounding that case to give me the foggiest idea what happened to those people. Occam's Razor fails on that one; it's all assumptions. Sad deal though, especially for the kid.

I do know that this is far from uncommon in SE OK. #1 cash crop.

I agree with you on misuse of public land, but I'm tired of marijuana stories. Like mentioned make it legal and put all bs out of business. I don't smoke and never had, but legalize it already. How many peeople have died from a marijuana overdose? How dangerous is it? People get addicted to video games, porn, gambling and alot worse things that aren't illegal. Tax the crap out of it and make it legal. Worry more on Murders, Rape, Thefts, Gangs, etc then some grass that grows from the ground. It really makes me sick, when people caught with weed serve more time then someone that commited a real crime.

This reminds me of a couple of plants I've known or heard about.

One was at the corner of Hwy 4 and Hefner Road. Down in a ravine and there may even be a creek there and I suspect there was. There was one lone absolutely gargantuan pot plant in plain site of the road. The thing was 15' tall if it was an inch. Everybody around knew it was there and that's probably why nobody went near it. Just north of Yukon on Hwy 4 is a good place to get a ticket for all manner of things because Mr. Funk's house is right along that stretch. They watch it pretty close.

The other one is pretty funny. My dad had just got into the land business and was working Atoka County. The courthouse has an open air courtyard in the center of it. It's surrounded by courthouse on all sides and I don't think there is any outside access. IOW you have to go through the courthouse to get to it. Anyway, the sheriff had a pot plant growing out there with a "if you see this growing call this number", sort of sign on it. One day they came into the courthouse and the plant was gone. Somebody scaled over and nabbed it!
