You are lucky. I was a single mom. Actually, I didn't say anything else to him. I left his office and went around the corner to the senior partner's office -- one of the guys on the letterhead. He said "Get out of here! Call me when you know what's going on." I didn't work directly for him (I "belonged" to Mr.YouWork24/7 ...).
