We have a couple capsule feeders on our lease. 800 pounders. Intend to sit on an old truck tire. None of our feeders have a tire. Seem to work just fine without. But maybe not.

Here is a picture from a new feeder I put in January.

I think I might look for a tire.

We grow them big on the river.....the feeder held 600#'s of corn and had a total weight of 900 #'s when full and it was staked down with 24" rebarb on each corner.....they pushed it over 40 feet from where it was setup at
That’s part of the reason I stake every feeder down with T posts at each leg.

The hogs had rutted it up so bad that I thought I was going to bounce off my tractor while trying to get part of it mowed.
#%^*ing gophers will do the same thing to a hay field. Then there’s the damn coyotes that try to dig for the gophers…

As I’ve often said after mowing a particular part of that field, I know I’m going to heaven, because that field just beat the hell out of me.
