We have a couple capsule feeders on our lease. 800 pounders. Intend to sit on an old truck tire. None of our feeders have a tire. Seem to work just fine without. But maybe not.

Here is a picture from a new feeder I put in January.

I think I might look for a tire.

We grow them big on the river.....the feeder held 600#'s of corn and had a total weight of 900 #'s when full and it was staked down with 24" rebarb on each corner.....they pushed it over 40 feet from where it was setup at

That’s part of the reason I stake every feeder down with T posts at each leg.

I have hunted them for many year around Lehigh, Ok a that is not far from Ada! LOL! Thy are everywhere!

The hogs had rutted it up so bad that I thought I was going to bounce off my tractor while trying to get part of it mowed.

#%^*ing gophers will do the same thing to a hay field. Then there’s the damn coyotes that try to dig for the gophers…

As I’ve often said after mowing a particular part of that field, I know I’m going to heaven, because that field just beat the hell out of me.

Couldn't you put up signs stating "No Pigs Allowed!" on your property? I have heard of this done with "No Guns Allowed!" signs at schools and businesses, so it must be an effective deterrent.

I just got back from 4 days down at the ranch....the pigs are driving me crazy. They have rooted up most of my 10 ac. clearing and they just took down my 600 lb deer feeder.....check out the picsView attachment 379308View attachment 379309View attachment 379310

The skids from leg to leg was part of the problem, ground was wet, they started rooting and got their snout under the skids and up it went.

Shooting them is fun, set a post and tape tannerite to the top put feed around it and watch for the right moment. Round traps work good but they will come back. Find where they are running through and leave some dead ones there. Good luck with them.

Tannerite is the fun part of eradication!
We don't have any and probably never will but I'd use the most viseral method with a video If I could.
