So it's sounding like I need to learn to like these sights or replace the whole set.

I'm wanting to use this gun for my EDC so I'm thinking that the black rear sight will give me problems in low light with my old eyes.

Thanks everyone!

Not so much as you’d think. I have a tritium front sight on mine with a plain black “U” notch on the rear. My instructors always told me to focus on the front sight. When I use the tritium sight only I don’t have to line things up, just put the dot on the target and shoot. Yeah, I know, the rear sight is more in focus in the picture, but I never claimed to be a good photographer.

LoL!! Perfect picture! That’s the exact point my eyes try to focus if I run anything other than a plain rear sight. And it makes the front sight look very similar.

Go shoot it in low light and see how it works for you. Shoot quite a bit and you may adjust.

You may be able to contact Ameriglo directly and get just the rear sight you are looking for. Also, using a flashlight in conjunction with you pistol pretty much eliminates the need for tritium.
I guess I'm going to try and get used to the Hackathorn sight set up since it is what the real operators use. [emoji16]

If it doesn't work out it looks like I'll be spending a hundred bucks on some Ameriglo Bolds.

You might try some white or light colored metallic/glittery nail polish on the rear sights. It's cheap, and easily removable with nail polish remover or acetone. Clean it with alcohol before applying to remove any body oils, etc.

Anything light colored will beat dark rear sights.
