"We're not going to move forward on [a bill to allow municipalities to ban any breed of dog]," said [Sen. Patrick] Anderson, R-Enid. "There's just too much opposition to it."

"I certainly didn't anticipate there would be as many people as vocal about it as they have been," he said.

Sherry Stinson, who started an online petition against the measure, said she was glad to hear the matter is being dropped.

Her petition garnered more than 9,000 signatures in about two weeks.​

Yeah, he said he got some calls from people who wanted to outlaw anyone named "Anderson." I guess he got the point.

I heard Pat sponsored this one and was a bit surprised, especially in this time of everyone wanting to ban everything. Glad he backed off of it.
