<edit> About smokeless tobacco--My great uncle Roy used it for years, but he lost face. The left side of his face, actually. He looked like a horror movie character.
They took cheek, left jawbone, part of his teeth/gums on the left side, removed his left cheekbone, and stretched a bad skin graft over the whole mess.
At reunions he would scare little kids with his bad side, then turn the good side and charm them back.
Of course at 18 we were all immortal, but fer crissake, lose the tobacco. It screws with social opportunities too . . .
