I’m sure it will trigger some but iirc, the Biden admin recently made a move to limited/end these ‘junk fees’.

If the cost of doing business requires a higher payment, why not just include them in the cost up front. Why hide things in all the nonsense stuff that comes when you go to pay? These companies know what they pay for a cc transaction and all the other ‘costs’ just as it they know what sales tax will be. No reason to surprise people at the end

I have been to several concerts at the Riverwind and a $40 ticket ends up being like maybe $46.
No big deal to me.

Man

Im with ya on that -- I've seen a small handful of concerts at casinos - Nugent, Sammy Hagar and REO - maybe the Black Crowes - (showing my age with my musical preferences probably ) - but the Casinos do it right --

Shows start on time, the beer stand is usually readily accessible on nights i am indulging , and unless its specifically advertised, I'm not going to have to sit through some opening act that i really don't want to see and they are done at a reasonable hour so i can get back to the house to do more old people type things - LOL

I'm not a gambler, but i do realize the reason they run such a tight program is they want you out spending money at the machines and tables right when the show lets out - but it makes for a very convenient arrangement for a modern gentleman in the throes of middle age who wants to rock out and get a buzz, yet still be home in time to watch a Gutfeld "The Five" re-run on Fox News :woot:

Or, come at it from the other direction.

The TICKET to see the show is $20. But, you have to add credit card, sales tax, venue fee, parking, air, seating, lights, water, curtains, garbage pick up, security ......
Fees the BAND has no control of, but must be collected. So you are aware of the cost.

The wife and I rarely attend pay for events. Today I saw an event of someone we would like to see. So I got on the internet and there are many ticket services to buy tickets from.
So I went through the process for the tickets. There and behold is the problem.

So the less expensive ticket prices were $32 to $35 dollars. But once I started through the process, the package was up to $128.53.

The upcharges, surcharges, fees, taxes, etc are ridiculous. We decided not to attend the event. What a scam !

These event places sell out to these ticket services and the end consumer gets hosed. So instead of pretending the tickets are $32, just charge $65 and end it.
Sorry for the rant.
Yeppers to everything you said

But you aren’t buying the ticket from the band typically. And if the lights cost extra and venue A vs B, isn’t that known prior to announcing the tour? Nothing you listed is typically a surprise to the groups selling the ticket.

Our loval bar/ music venue puts on a show a week. I’m guessing it knows it’s overheard and can communicate that to the band ahead of time.

We don't pay to go to concerts with stinky people and views from 1/4 mile away unless one wants to pay big money to sit closer.
I have other things that are more important to me to spend that money on, and the wife and I don't agree on the same music styles. I've been to some big concerts in the past.
We had a member on here decide to pay I think it was $600 a ticket so his wife could be in the first few rows of a Paul McCartney concert in OKC. They were close but only got to see the back of his head. That would make me really mad.

Didn't they get stopped from charging more than face value, or maybe only get a small percentage? All those fees are making up the difference.
