Not all that unusual. Lots of people rob people that they know or associated with. Idiots associate with idiots. I also have a guess what that $65 was for. How often do you hear about someone being robbed and the robbers come back later for more?

Yeah, it's part of the Three Magic Rules for your safety: Don't go stupid places; don't do stupid things; don't hang around with stupid people.
And something was mentioned in the story that seems becoming more common: there were multiple suspects, with at least one standing watch.
