Weapons background. M1 & M2 Carbine, *M1 Garand, Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR),M-14 & M-16, 40MM granade launcher (M-79) 22 rifles & pistols, 38,357 & 45 cal pistols. I was also a certified Remington Raider with 3 yrs duty at HQDA, Wash D.C. I'm from Broken Arrow, Okla. and am still exposed to rifles and pistols & carry a conceal weapons card.
* for those of you who know of the M1 Garand, please read the NRA's Nov 2010 America's 1st Freedom page 59 to find out what I didn't know about it and ate and slept with it. Your 2nd amendment rights are hanging by a very thin microscopic fiber since Kagen went on the super court. Check out the last person who went on the court. Her first marching order was to vote NO on the 5 to 4 decision concerning the 2nd amendment and she DID. We need to stay in touch and pass on what doesn't make the major networks. I will try to keep up on weapons issues. Thanks for taking me in, Jim Niessen.

I'm new to the gun community as this forum. Some people at work are helping me in getting my concealed carry, so I look forward to reading and learning from everyone here.

Hello to everyone..
I am new to the OKC area, and spend my time between Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri. I arrived in OKC in June, 2010. In addition to firearms, I am a photographer, and aviation is another "hobby" of mine.
I am currently concentrating on rifles right now, learning and applying new skills to make me a proficient shot. I have much more experience with handguns and short ranges, so the rifles are a nice challenge. My family has land and some parts have prairie dogs, so I have been on the varmint wagon for the past 3 months. I am currently using an AR for the prairie dogs.
I hope to join some groups, attend local events, and meet others in the area with similar interest. I also plan to take guided hunts, and learn from individuals or groups so I can acquire the skills to enjoy all the shooting activities I can handle.
