I know you guys are too young to remember this, but in January 2001 we inagurated a president who actually lost the popular vote by half a million votes. He treated it like a mandate. Ancient history. No big deal. I'm just an old fool and nobody listens to me.

Hopefully, the current administration will get the same level of cooperation and civility as the president you speak of!

We'll be hearing all kinds of insanity about "mandates".

Hopefully in 2 years we can vote out most of the idiots in Congress and get somewhat of a fresh start.

Is this Bush's economy or Obama's?

I'd argue more that it's Congress's doing more than Bush or Obama. And I would place the blame on Congress from 2006 to present. It's a bipartisan effort.

But being forced to assign blame to BII or BO? I'd peg it mostly on BO.
