The older Sweet 22's are some sweet scopes, but lately (the last year or two) they've had the reputation of junk. Don't know whether they changed/cheapened the manufacturing process, but that's the rep. I love mine (Sweet 22 4-16-50, 2 Sweet 17 in 3-9 & 4-16-50) but they're all first gen, and were up there in price.

Given BSA's current/recent manufactured products, I would skip 'em. Walmarts Centerpoint brand seems a better buy that BSA's fuzzy, dark scopes.

There are some decent scopes out there for decent money. Redfield, Nikon Prostaff (P series), Nikon's Buckmaster series to save more money, but you get really cheap glass, or even the Vortex Crossfire are all some quality (nothing to write home about) glass. I'd personally go with a P-series Nikon or the Vortex myself, but it's only an opinion. Good luck!

I was torn between the BSA, Mueller APT, or the Vortex Crossfire II. I am going with the Mueller, strictly because of the turrets. Its a few dollars cheaper, and slightly less power, but I get mil dots and target turrets. If it weren't for the turrets, I'd go with the Vortex.

Find a Korean made* Bushnell Banner with adjustable objective.... even used, you won't regret it. Glass is excellent, they are air-gun rated scopes so they are tough as nails, and with 22LR you want AO for shorter distances (most scopes are set parallax-free too far out for rimfire).

As far as knobs go - forget about them in sub-$200 category, set-it-up and don't touch 'em ever again, just do the hold over/under.

* They are marked on the bottom - check gunbroker and ebay - if the pictures don't show ask the seller.
