Here is a copy of an email I just sent to both US Senators from Oklahoma

Dear Senator Inhofe,

In view of Judge Merrick Garland's vote to sustain the ban on private possession of handguns in Washington, DC, I respectfully urge you to vote against confirming his appointment to the US Supreme Court.

The case of Heller vs Washington, DC was decided by one vote and Judge Garland, though he may be a fine man, is not the right person to have on the Court at this time.

Again, I urge that you vote to reject Judge Garland's confirmation to the Supreme Court.

Correct. The case was not reheard en banc; it went straight to the Supreme Court.
