You guys crack me up with this "uniparty" bulls**t. There sure is a lot of excitement here to have Trump as president elect and over most of his cabinet picks. But if the parties are the same, what difference does it make?
Thune is the new majority leader. Like it or not, that's just the way it is. Thune also has a very strong record of support for the 2A. So that's a good start. He's also saying that ALL of Trump's cabinet picks should have the opportunity to be heard before the senate.
Is he a typical politician? Maybe. But he's strong on guns and he's willing to give Trump's nominees a chance to be heard.
