Tree bark disease

Has anyone seen this before on tree bark? It is some sort of disease that is killing some the trees around the areas that I hunt. I have mainly seen it appear on oaks and elms. It makes the bark white, powdery and eventually the bark flakes off.

I lost some trees around my place this year too. They just went from healthy to dead in a couple months.

I have 3 oak trees in my yard that are now dead standing and dropping big limbs regularly.
The wood is punky and doesnt even make good firewood

I suspect this is what you have. Wiped out a lot trees on our place several years ago.

What did you do to stop
It? I think we have this and it’s killing so many massive oaks at our place in choctaw
