Just finished "Ol' Blue"

I do plan on going to the classic car cruise in by Burger King with it next month. That would be the last Friday of the month.

Ol Blue looks damn good. I’m inheriting my grandfathers “Ol Red” soon. 1972 GMC 2500.

Hope I can make it look as good as you did Ol Blue.

Ok, I took my first drive in the truck out on the public roads today. No problems at all, everything went well.
But I definitely need another gear or need to change the gear ratio.
Anyone know were to tell me to look for a Chevy 5 spd transmission that will fil in that old thing.
I think I would rather put a 5 spd in instead of changing to 354 gears or something like that.

Added a tachometer, it's running 2900 rpm at 55 mph.
Looks like it would be alot of work & fabrication to swap to a 5 spd.
But found a rear end that will fit easy enough from a mid 90s truck. It has 3.38 gears, so that should slow that engine down quite a bit & make it more enjoyable to drive.

I come back to this thread every so often just to admire your work. That is a sharp looking ride for sure.
