Unless you are trying to keep the rest of the lunch at a certain temperature then the ole fashioned box that holds the thermos in the lid is pretty hard to beat. Other then that.. I'm cheap and Braum's paper sacks are plentiful...

well trust me when during the summer when my car is not running and my drink is in the car in 100 degree heat, it will take more than a thermos...

I've always used my little fabric ice chest (its about 12 pack size) with one of those ICE BLUE freezer blocks. Usually will keep anything in there cold for at least 12 hours in the summer.

This ... GC has taken his out to Arcadia countless times in the summer heat. It sits in the car and he goes out and gets a drink when he gets thirsty ... He had made it home with drinks at 5 or 6 in the afternoon (after having loaded up and left the house at 7am or so) that were still cold.

By good vacuum thermos I'm thinking along the lines of this..

If you put a cold drink in this with ice cubes you will still have ice at the end of the day. I don't care if you leave it in your car or not. Now as far as keeping a sandwich cool or warm... I just eat hot sandwiches..
